Having abandoned the trip to Bristol, the weekend is actually working out rather well.
Tonight we got to Oxford to enjoy an evening ina pub with friends. The downside is, we may have to camp for the night, but I've done worse. And it means that TL gets a good night's sleep before driving back to London.
Sunday, we're going to Planet Angel Chilled, which I've never been before but has much to recommend it, not least My Mate Graham spinning his wheels of steel. Or something. Anyway, it sounds good.
Monday and Saturday are pencilled in for Nothing. Ahhh. We might garden.
Can the veggies/chefs amongst you recommend a nice fish dish for four people which can easily be cooked in an hour or so after work? I was thinking of poached salmon in milk, but all suggestions are gratefully received...

Date: 2004-03-26 05:49 am (UTC)Fish:
Stuffed Baked Mackeral.
Get enough mackeral for the number of people you're feeding - 1 each is usually okay. I prefer getting them already gutted and de-headed/tailed - you may choose not to, but that's hard work doing it yourself.
Chop spring onions, chives, fresh ginger. Mix in a bowl with a little olive oil. Season to taste.(I also use chestnut mushrooms at this stage - some
weirdospeople don't like them).Stuff the mix into the stomach space of each fish, then wrap them in foil. Stick the fish in the oven at approx. 200degC for 20 minutes.
I serve this with boiled potatoes, cabbage, sprouts and a white sauce.

Date: 2004-03-26 06:02 am (UTC)Tomorrow is Liana's grandad's 95th birthday and "meet the family".
Sunday is revenge - Liana gets to meet my family in Shropshire.
Did you want tickets for the Boing Party by the way? Cos I can probably get people to give them to you Sunday.
