My manager is driving me nuts.

Every time an email is sent to a distribution list of people including me, she forwards it to me again (complete with attachments - imagine what this is doing to our server) and tells me what to do with it.

I have tried replying and gently pointing out that I already have the email and already know what to do with it. She responds that I should copy her into everything (and I do mean _everything_) I email out so she knows what I'm doing.

I had my 3 month appraisal with my other manager yesterday and it was modestly glowing.

What do I have to do to make this woman believe she can trust me to get on with my goddamn job?

Is it perhaps worth having a chat with your other manager to see if she(?) can try to make Manager A see the error of their ways? Or are they not really working in the same area?

I have just had a chat with the offending manager which basically went, "In the nicest possible way, butt out". Fingers crossed. She didn 't cry or anything...

Encourage her to go on holiday. When she comes back, nothing really horrible will have happened (make sure it doesn't or her fears will all be proven) and she'll realise you can actually make it through the week without constant monitoring...
