Exactly what my reaction was two years ago. Have you looked at any trees yet? That greenery round the branches is made up of lots of individual little bits.

I remember that exact feeling!
I was only about 19, but the sudden realisation that my entire life had been viewed through the lens they used for close-ups of Marian in Robin of Sherwood came as a shock to me!

And yes, trees! Individual leaves as opposed to a homogenous mass! How weird is that... it was some time before looking at tree branches in a light breeze ceased to be profoundly hypnotic!

(The other effect I remember was that I was *convinced* everyone who saw me was looking at me and sniggering about how ridiculous I looked in glasses. They weren't, obviously, but I really felt as though they were.)
