Oct. 20th, 2004 03:26 pmI work at a student admin office for quite a large medical school. We have a student hatchway, which is basically just a door into the office, cut in half and the lower half permanenetly locked, with a smallish desk behind it. It opens straight into the main office and from the hatchway you can see all six desks, with everyone who mans the hatchway sitting at them, heads down, working.
We have just had to tape a sign to our hatchway saying "If noone notices you please say 'excuse me' or knock on the desk for attention". Otherwise they just stand there like lemons, making no noise, for about twenty minutes, and flounce off, leaving us (for the most part) utterly unaware that they have been there.
I am never going to a doctor ever again for as long as I live.
